Website Test

Open Graph Checker

Open Graph tags decide what your link looks like everywhere it gets shared. This reads yours and previews the result. Enter your URL below.

What OpenGraph.xyz measures

The checker fetches your page, extracts every Open Graph and Twitter Card tag, renders the preview for each major platform, and points out tags that are missing or empty.

How to read your result

Four tags do almost all the work: og:title, og:description, og:image and og:url. Anything else is polish. If og:url points at a different address than the page you tested, shares will send people to that other address instead.

What to change first

Fill in og:image before anything else. A card with an image takes up several times more space in a feed than a bare text link, which is most of the reason to bother with these tags at all.

Common questions

Do I need Twitter Card tags as well as Open Graph?
Not usually. X falls back to Open Graph tags when Twitter specific ones are missing, so you only need them if you want a different image there.
What is og:url for?
It sets the canonical address for the share, so all engagement collects on one URL rather than splitting across tracking variants.
